# Yellowbrick Premium

> What the platform membership includes, how to use the perks, and how it differs from paying an author.

Yellowbrick Premium is a membership for the app itself. It unlocks filters and tools on Yellowbrick, plus member rates on some authors and market software. It does not unlock an author's paywalled pitches. That still takes a [subscription to that author](/guides/subscribe-to-authors).

Upgrade from **Premium** in the sidebar, or open [joinyellowbrick.com/premium](https://next.joinyellowbrick.com/premium).

## What you get

In the app:

* **Elite Only**, so Home can show pitches from Elite authors only
* Author badge, author return, win rate, and pitch return filters
* Bookmarks, including folders
* More than one saved filter set

Also included with the membership:

* The daily Premium newsletter (the strongest pitches, sent to your inbox)
* Custom alerts for setups and companies you care about
* Member discounts on preferred-partner authors (often 30%)
* Member rates on partner tools listed on the Premium page, such as Koyfin
* Priority support

## How to claim benefits

    Open [Premium](https://next.joinyellowbrick.com/premium) and complete checkout. App features (Elite Only, quality filters, bookmarks, extra saved filters) turn on as soon as the membership is active.

    On a locked pitch from a preferred partner, the unlock dialog shows the discounted price if you already have Premium. If you are not a member yet, it offers the discount if you upgrade first. If you already subscribe to that author, open [Premium](https://next.joinyellowbrick.com/premium), find their card, and apply the discount there.

    Stay signed in, open [Premium](https://next.joinyellowbrick.com/premium), and use the tool's member link. Copy it or click through to subscribe on their site.

  The newsletter uses the email on your Yellowbrick account. Alerts live under **Notifications**.
